Overview of Student Pathway Heading link

1st year
First-year students participate in one of four humanities seminars and accompanying writing workshops

2nd year
Students move on to one of two second-year seminars and receive a stipend to attend workshops and lectures.
They also apply to work with a faculty mentor on an individual research topic in their third and fourth years. -
3rd 4th year
Students who continue to the research project will receive funding to conduct research through internships, archival work, or study abroad between their second and third years. They are also eligible for funding during the summer between the third and fourth years. During the academic years, students will enroll in independent study and work on their research project with a faculty member; they will also attend workshops and events on and off campus and can eventually serve as mentors for first- and second-year students in the program.
